Jill and Brenden

Happy Labor Day Weekend everyone! Hope you are all home safe and sound on this Friday night.

Chris and I had the great pleasure of shooting a wedding last weekend. Jillian and Brenden were married in Steilacoom, WA in front of the beautiful Puget Sound on an old time bandstand with their family and friends all watching with joy in their eyes.

Jill tried very hard to stay out of sight of her soon to be husband, and was successful!! Woohoo!! This was not an easy task. Brenden’s first look at Jill was as she was being escorted by her father down the grassy isle. His smile was golden. She was breathtaking. It was a great event, one we will not soon forget.

I hope you enjoy some of the photo selections I chose for their blog. Congratulations, you guys! I hope Chicago treats you well:)

Horse, Horse, Horse, Cecil, and a Swan

Well, its only almost the end of August and I’m so far behind in my blog posts. Big surpise-right? Anyway, we were up in Bellingham last month taking some last engagement photographs of our son and his finance before their wedding. While Lynette was snapping away, I managed to get away and photograph some of the horses at the farm.

These are incredible animals and they were very cooperative for me. Thank you guys (and gals). It’s so much easier for everyone when we all behave. Haha.

Oh, and don’t forget the resident swan.

Blessings,

Chris.

Molly’s Bridal Shower

It was a gorgeous day for a tea party.

This past Saturday, my soon to be daughter-in-law, Molly, attended her bridal shower on Lake Samish in Bellingham, WA. Given to her by her besties, Kelsey and McKena, it was a gala event. Beautiful job, ladies!!

There was a spread of scented sweet peas to decorate the lovely tea cup laden table, chocolate covered strawberries, the best cucumber sandwiches I have ever had, a wonderful broccoli salad, lemon bars, champagne, and of course, tea.

Molly was lavished with beautiful and thoughtful gifts. We played fun bridal shower games (with prizes of course). We enjoyed the sun and each others company.

Congratulations, Molly! I can’t wait to see you married to my son!:) He is a lucky man.

Here are a few photos from this grand gathering. Enjoy

Jillian and Brenden

Merry Christmas to you all! What a wonderful and joyous time to celebrate the birth of our Savior.

Recently, I had the privilege of photographing Jillian and Brenden. These two will be getting married this upcoming summer and have asked Chris and myself to be their photographers. We are honored! And can hardly wait for August to get here:)

Here are a few of my favorite photos from their engagement session at the Nisqually Wildlife Refuge. We took advantage of one of the few dry (but cold) December days. There are a few pics with an extra little cutie (my favs).  Enjoy:)

How to Catch A “Fraud” Wedding Photographer

As someone who knows a slew of professional photographers that have had their work stolen (including myself), and as someone who has seen numerous people pass themselves off as professionals, I thought that this article was relevant to you as you search for your wedding photographer.

http://allebachphotography.com/topics/tips-for-catching-a-wedding-fraudtographer-fauxtographer/

The gist of it, if you don’t want to read it, that in order to protect yourself from a poser is this:

  • Meet the photographer is person and ask questions;
  • Ask for references;
  • Ask to see an entire event;
  • Pay attention to photographic clues (including geography);
  • Google the photographers name;
  • Stay away from Craigslist.

Of course, blessings to you as you search for the right photographer for your wedding.

Chris.

How to Save Big Money by Not Hiring a Professional Wedding Photographer

Good morning, Friends.

Talk to any professional wedding photographer and they will tell you that one of the biggest challenges they face two fold: first, the notion from potential clients that I can save big money if they do it themselves (that is taking your own photographs) and a very closely related second, the cost of a professional photographer is just too much money. Well, I’m not going to get into the why a professional wedding photographer costs money (there are plenty of blog postings that break down everything from the cost of professional knowledge and expertise, marketing, equipment, time, etc., etc.) but I would like to share something that came across my desk yesterday.

As you know, I am not one who regularly reposts other’s blog, but every once in a while something comes along that is worth sharing.This post will explain the monetary benefits you will reap by doing your own wedding photographs. I hope that you enjoy it as much as I did. Click on the link below to view the post.

Keep in mind my post is not intended to offend anyone, just provide a good humored look at things to take into account when considering taking your own wedding photographs. I can’t speak for the intent of the original author, however. 🙂

Blessings,

Chris

Please Hire A Professional

A friend of mine, not too close of a friend, texts me on Sunday that she “photographed a wedding this weekend and I hope the pictures turn out.” Hope the pictures turn out? Really?

Please, please, hire a professional! Don’t trust your amateur friends just because they have a nice camera. They have no idea what they are doing. Yes, its nice to save a few dollars, but if you want your special day captured in photos (or video) properly, don’t entrust them with your once-in-a-lifetime event.

Trust me, your friendship is not worth losing because your pictures didn’t turn out.

Blessings,

Chris.

Kari & Michael – Sumner Wedding Photographer

Greetings friends,

Well, its been a while since we posted anything. And once again for that I am sorry. Its not because we’re trying to neglect, just so much to do and so little time to do it as they say.

Anyway, we wanted to take a few minutes this morning and post a few photographs (and a video) from one of our favorite weddings this year. This is Kari and Michael, an absolutely wonderful couple who were married last on September10. That is 9/10/11. The bride and groom are both amazing people and we thank them for the privilege of being their photographers. It was an honor.

Their ceremony took place at Sumner Presbyterian Church and their reception at the McMillian Grange. Occasions Catering provided the reception dinner and as always did a fabulous job. This time video was captured by Johnson Video and not McKenna Video.

We wish Kari & Michael all our best for many happy years together.

Blessings,

Chris

Recent Customer Testimonial 2 – Seattle Wedding Photography

Today must the day for blog posts and testimonials. Between the 7 or so blog posts I wrote today for my other sites, this is the second one here today, and it just happens to be a testimonial from another bride. It reads:

“If every photographer could be just like you guys, then no one would need to worry. You guys totally rocked it!

I got so many complements on you and we couldn’t have done it without you. We thank you so much for helping our special day be a perfect fairy tale. We both loved the first look–how it gave me butterflies. Tyler kept complementing your work-we are so pleased and love you both.”

~ Melanie and Tyler

Thanks you guys for the kind words and the honor of being your wedding photographer. We honestly had a great time working with you. Melanie-you are one of the most beautiful brides we’ve ever seen. We can’t wait to show you your album.

Blessings to you both,

Chris

P.S. you can view some of their wedding photographs at this link.

Hi everyone,

Just wanted to post a testimonial that we recently received. It is from Kari & Derrick, who we were fortunate enough to photograph last June (ok, so their wedding was almost a year ago-big deal, right?).

“We just wanted to say thank you, you guys were amazing and made our special day even that much better! You guys were wonderful and your photos really reflect that. I have showed off my album to numerous people and have even given your name and number out.

I can’t wait to work with you guys again…hopefully for pictures of a new addition to the family!!

~ Kari & Derrick

Thank you Kari & Derrick for the opportunity to be your wedding photographer. It was an honor! And happy anniversary (almost).

Blessings,

Chris.
